Newly Carved Stamp & Repeat Pattern

Today in my studio carving some stamps for some custom orders, I also carved this charming little primitive flower. I decided to create a repeat design pattern using, what else? Large blank index cards. I use these all the time and have for many years, also have used them in book making.

I must admit I adore stamping. The process is so fun coupled with the satisfaction of my finished visual piece, whether I use it or not, I am just happy
to stamp almost any time. Thanks for stopping by.

Week 37 of my Blog Freebie

This week's free clip art is a perfect representation of my carefree style of stamping or collage. Actually, everything I do has an unevenness quality to it.  I really just allow myself to be creative without perfection which also enhances the hand feel of the design. This diamond pattern was certainly created with this approach.

Last week I mentioned that I would create some interesting PhotoShop experiments with that week's (Week 36) free Collage Element, so here you go...

Using one of my hand carved stamps and watercolor markers I created this cool colored square floral design. Perfect for borders or backgrounds. I hope you like this one as much as I do.  I am going to play with this in Photoshop and will post some images later for you to see.

Even stamping a detail image like this little door shows up on a dark background.
Next I used a dark olive background with some accents of orange dry brushed on the page, then I stamped with red and a bit of turquoise.

Happy Easter, Week 35 Blog Freebie, Collage Elements

Decorated Eggs for Easter.
Here for your art journals or card crafting are some colorful stamped eggs.
I stamped these and cut them out. When I scanned them I used a velum grid paper over a dictionary text, you may see these faint backgrounds when you enlarge this clip art. You can either cut out the eggs or alter the background in Photoshop such as pouring a paint bucket over the background and see what happens....adjust the opacity when doing this.
Digital or paper collage either way it would be fun to play with these decorated eggs.
I am wishing all you blog visitors a bright, healthy,  and colorful Easter and Passover weekend.

Oh, why yes of course, those are my own hand carved stamps
that I used to design this  ;)
